Sam Gardiner
Principal

Sam has extensive experience leading the design, briefing and delivery of large-scale teaching, workplace, public realm and community facilities. For over 15 years he’s worked as a design leader at some of Melbourne’s most prominent practices, giving him a rigorous knowledge of all stages of delivery for complex design projects.

Sam sees the engagement process as key to unpacking a project, not bringing preconceived ideas but instead a depth of experience to provoke and evolve solutions in partnership with the key stakeholders. This focus on collaboration in Sam’s work and capacity to deliver elegant solutions to complex problems can be seen in highly successful built outcomes.

Sam believes that architecture must be inspirational and attractive but equally practical and rigorous. He advocates for evidenced-based design and has taught at RMIT University in parallel to his work in practice.
