Join us in the gallery for ‘Exhibiting Architecture’

As part of ‘Brand New’ NH Architecture will host a floor talk in the fortyfivedownstairs gallery to discuss the history and possible futures for architectural exhibition.

In the past, traditional methods of architectural production generated many and varied types of a physical collateral. Piles of paper drawings and shelves of carboard study models have been replaced by digital processes which produce content that will often never be printed.

For better or worse then, a culture of the image has created a paradigm where the task of exhibiting architecture has become a necessary project in its own right.

This year, NH Architecture celebrates 20 years of practice. In this time, NH has developed a working method that relies on advanced digital processes. Like many design practices, we’re now faced with the challenge of how to share our work beyond the virtual interface.

Join us to discuss the future of exhibiting architecture in the fortyfivedownstairs gallery, 45 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, on Tuesday 9th July 2024, from 1:00 until 2:00pm.

NH Architecture Director Hamish Lyon and Senior Associate Liam Oxlade will be joined in conversation with special guests Lauren Garner, Architect & Associate Lecturer, RMIT University, Founder, ExtraContextual, Andre Bonnice, Director, Simulaa and Lecturer, Creative Practitioner, Melbourne School of Design, University of Melbourne and Anna Jankovic, Director, Simulaa and Associate Lecturer, School of Architecture and Urban Design, RMIT University.
