Martin Heide
Principal

Martin is a Principal and design leader within our studio with a diverse portfolio of Australian and European experience. His work spans urban design, interiors and multiple project typologies.

Bringing a refined design sensibility, an exacting and systematic methodology to the projects in which he is involved, Martin has helped develop the studio’s expertise in conceptual planning, from large scale masterplans and commercial projects, through to workplaces and interiors.

Martin understands the relationship between large-scale gestures and the finer-grain of peoples’ experience of the built environment. He brings an in-depth knowledge of workplace culture and activity based work environments, whilst recognising the need for a collaborative approach, working closely with stakeholders.

Conducting architectural research in several areas, including human behaviour in the built environment and customer experience, Martin directly applies these branches of knowledge to bring innovative practice into project work.

With a keen interest in our environment extending beyond the professional context, Martin’s research has partially focused on developing green roofs on both existing and new buildings. A keen passion for our urban environment also saw Martin winning the 2012 Melbourne Design Award for Urban Design.
