NH pledge support for a First Nations Voice to Parliament

We’re pleased to join a group of 36 architecture and design practices to show support for the Uluru Statement from the Heart and a constitutionally enshrined First Nations Voice.

Together with the Architecture and Design Reconciliation Industry Network Group, we published an open letter this week confirming our support for the voice and asking other businesses and industries to join us. In the letter, we reference the positive impacts of engagement with First Nations communities that we’ve all experienced in practice, and how these insights have led to better design outcomes:

“We shape spaces and places on Country across Australia. As a design community, we have begun a process of better connecting with Country – through close engagement and participatory processes led by First Nations communities. We have witnessed the positive impacts of engaging directly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people whose wisdom, generosity, and world-view enrich our work and the built environment.”
