Burwood Brickworks wins David Oppenheim Award for Sustainable Architecture
Burwood Brickworks has been awarded the David Oppenheim Award for Sustainable Architecture at the 2021 Australian Institute of Architecture National Awards.
With sustainability as the key driver, Burwood Brickworks has swept the awards pool over the last year receiving more than 12 awards from the AIA Victorian Chapter, Property Council of Australia, Urban Developer and INDE Awards among others. It has achieved 6 GreenStar stars, is Living Building Challenge Petal Certified and is on track to receive full LBC certification. Winning the David Oppenheim Award for Sustainable Architecture is the culmination of all these achievements and the hard work and diligence that led to them. Burwood Brickworks is a game-changing project that redefines the suburban shopping centre and serves as a beacon showing Australia, and the world, what is possible if we put our minds to it.
